There are too many people on this mother
earth. Up to 7 billion people roaming the
streets, scratching the earth and digging
abysses just for food and life sustenance
while some other few seem to have a tree
that grows money or a faucet that gushes
cash for them, food to waste and drinks to
pour away. We all wanna be like them; we
admire them. We all want to ace our courses
because we want to acquire accolades and
respect like they do, have a boat cruise at
Marina, host wild parties on Saturday at
Transcorp Hilton then fly back to Lagos in
our Gulfstream 650, drive the Rolls Royce like
to Banana Island then the next day wear
your Armani suits to Cathedral of Christ,
Marina and take the front seat, then donate
money and get a knighthood conferred on
you. If you want to be like them or at least
die trying, you have to learn what they did
or do. Let’s go!
They Marry Early:
Behind every successful man there is a
woman. Read the sentence carefully. It says
woman and not women and you better
appreciate that this woman must come into
your life as the madam quite early. There are
reasons for this, if you are unmarried, you
tend to be unfocused but if you are hitched,
you get a sense of responsibility and
obligation to cater for the other human
beings God has entrusted into your care and
by doing this, you inadvertently get
ambitious. Men that applied this lesson
include Innocent Chukwuma (Innoson) at 26,
Patrick Chidolue (Chelsea Group) at 22,
Ifeanyi Uba (Capital Oil) at 23, Cosmas
Maduka (Coscharis) at 19, etc.
They are School Intelligent:
Forget these stories of billionaires being
dropouts and all. See, many of them go to
school and came top of their classes and
today they are reaping millions as fruits of
their night class and As, MBAs, PhDs, etc. If
you think it’s a lie ask Alex Otti, Festus
Odimegwu, Prof. Osunbor, Prof. Utomi, etc.
They are Computer Literate:
You better start learning how to programme,
hack, create games, build software or
hardware or just do any cool stuff that has to
do with computer. Just imagine Evan Spiegel
is a billionaire at 24 just because he
cofounded Snapchat. No need to talk about
Mark Zuckerberg, Larry Ellison, Michael Dell,
Larry Page, Sergey Brin and so many others.
They Drop Out of School:
Just like our fingerprints are different so also
do our destinies. Some can only run away
from poverty if they run away from
classrooms and enter any other thing, get
rich and come back to the institutes to give
speeches about the value of education or
how washing plates is not an easy chore. Get
inspired by Bill Gates, Kanye West, Steve
Jobs, Amancio Ortega, Elizabeth Holmes,
Steven Spielberg, etc.
They are Brave and Confident
Winnies and soft hearted men never make it
to the top. Confident men take business risks.
Jonathan was a sissy so David the braveheart
took the throne. Our Heads of State like IBB,
Abacha, Obasanjo, Murtala, Buhari and other
military leaders like TY Danjuma are epitome
of bravery.
They Do Rituals:
If you can withstand the shame Chief Vincent
Duru aka Otokoto and the firing squad his
son, Obidiozo faced, then you are free to
engage in rituals and make blood money.
They are Politicians:
There is no need to tell you that once you
win any political office in Nigeria you must
get at least a Prado Jeep, build a mansion in
your village and by mistake you become a
senator or a president like Jonathan, you will
share gold plate iPhones at your daughter’s
wedding.
They are Drug Barons:
Is it not when you have excess money that
you can burn millions of dollars in cash just
to keep your daughter warm at night while
running from American forces like Pablo
Escobar? Money from drugs makes you live
the Hollywood dream – running all your life
like Fast and Furious and finally getting an
opportunity to get a nationally televised
death on a rooftop.
The Talented:
This is the best money. Do what you enjoy
and they pay you with beautiful women, fast
cars, houses by the beach that bitches will
love. I’d give anything to be Ronaldo, Don
Jazzy, Tuface, Jay Z, Diddy, Balotelli, etc.
ll of them are business men.
Whether they married early or dropped out
of school or are talented or died on rooftops,
one thing is certain, most of them did not
make their money by earning salary but by
being astute and shrewd businessmen.
Business is a money spinner. It makes the
world go round and we should be grateful to
businessmen for our development. They
made it possible.
So ladies and gentlemen, let us see at Forbes
or Fortune 500.
