Of Vision and Visionary Leadership - By Reno Omokri

One of the biggest misconceptions of the 
world, in my opinion, is the view held by some 
that members of the clergy should not 
participate in politics or government.
I have read The Holy Bible and The Quran 
and to the best of my knowledge, nowhere in 
both books is such a notion promoted.
As a matter of fact, the first usage of the 
word 'government' comes from The Holy 
Bible and the United States of America 
lifted the word 'President' directly from The 
Bible book of Daniel (chapter 6 verse 3).
Some of the greatest figures in The Bible were 
prophets and political leaders at the same time.
Joseph was Prime Minister of Egypt and political 
ruler of the then known world but he was also 
described as a prophet and diviner of God's will.
Daniel was appointed President of Babylon by King 
Darius yet he continued to function in office as a 
judge and prophet.
In the New Testament, Joseph of Arimathea was a 
counsellor (the equivalent of today's Senator) and 
he was a devotee of Our Lord and Saviour, 
Yeshu'a (whom some call Jesus). Likewise, the 
first African Christian, the Ethiopian Eunuch, was 
a high official in Queen Candace's government.
So, there is nothing wrong with men of God coming 
into politics. It is desired and it will help clean up politics.
What is wrong however, is for men of God to come 
into politics and instead of being agents of 
transforming politics with the light of their moral 
compass, they end up conforming to the prevailing 
political culture such that you can not 
differentiate between them and a regular politician.
In The Bible, we read how an anointed man of God, 
a prophet by name Balaam, allowed his love for 
power and money mislead him into accepting to 
curse the anointed of God after he had been 
hired by King Balak of Moab to do just that.
Eventually, Balaam recognized the folly of his 
ways after an angelic visitation which prompted his 
donkey to speak to him. This divine visitation 
caused him to repudiate the lure of money and 
power dangled by King Balak to whom he uttered 
the now very famous words "How shall I curse, 
whom God hath not cursed?"-Numbers 23:8. 
It was this historical incident that came to my 
mind when I read Professor Yemi Osinbajo's words 
of condemnation on Twitter where he had said 
President Jonathan runs a "visionless" 
government.
Professor Osinbajo is an ordained pastor as I am 
and one of the ethics of our calling, enshrined in 
the homiletic code, is that men of God should not 
criticize out of a desire for personal gain, but 
should do so advisedly and only if there are 
genuine and compelling reasons to do so.
As a matter of fact, Philippians 2:3 says we should 
"do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. 
Rather, in humility value others above yourselves".
So let me ask, is it really true that President 
Jonathan runs a visionless government? 
In fact, on a day that coincided with Professor 
Osinbajo's day of casting stones at President 
Jonathan, Bill Gates was celebrating Nigeria's 
ability to reduce incidences of the Wild Polio Virus 
from hundreds of cases just three years ago to 
only 6 cases in 2014.
Mr. Gates actions only corroborated those of the 
United Nations which earlier in the year had given 
President Jonathan an award celebrating Nigeria 
for eradicating the scourge of Guinea Worm infestation.
The truth is that not only does President Jonathan 
run a purposeful and visionary government, one 
can even begin to see the crystallization of his 
vision into tangible benefits for the Nigerian masses.
Professor Yemi Osinbajo is a pastor of the 
Redeemed Christian Church of God which has 
perhaps the largest indoor camp in West Africa 
along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Every year, millions of Nigerian parishioners of 
the RCCG troop to The Redemption Camp. They 
are faced with terrible traffic gridlock as the 
multitude try their best to get to the venue on 
time. The sheer number of users on that road 
overwhelms the capacity of the highway and 
members have been praying for an intervention 
that will ease their annual journey.
Enter President Jonathan, whose vision prompted 
him to initiate the Lagos-Ibadan High Speed 
Railway which is underway.
This service will not only facilitate the movement 
of RCCG's parishioners to The Redemption Camp 
thereby easing the pressure on the roads, it will 
also make it possible to live in Ibadan and work in 
Lagos, with stops along the way.
The world renowned global consultancy, KPMG, 
which monitors trends, in November of 2014 
included this High Speed Interstate Railway as one 
of the world's top 100 infrastructure projects.
KPMG praised the Jonathan administration for its 
vision in initiating such a project. 
And it does not stop there.
Even the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, long 
abandoned to the elements by previous 
administrations, is at the receiving end of some of 
the fastest construction work in Africa. Two 
construction firms are working to reconstruct the 
road in record time. Julius Berger is working from 
the Lagos end while RCC is working from the 
Ibadan end with the intention to meet somewhere 
in the middle so that the work is completed in record time.
As I write this piece, the China Civil Engineering 
Construction Company, CCECC, has officially 
announced that it has rounded off the track 
laying work of Nigeria’s first standard gauge 
railway modernization project linking the capital 
city of Abuja and the Northwestern state of Kaduna.
This is another project that has come to reality as 
a result of the vision of President Goodluck Jonathan.
So, when Professor Osinbajo describes President 
Jonathan's government as "visionless" it is obvious 
that he has left the objectivity of the pulpit for 
the subjectivity of partisan politics.
Or else, how can any objective person call the man 
under whose guidance Nigeria became the largest 
economy in Africa and the 26th largest economy in 
the world, visionless? Is such a feat possible 
without vision, without planning, without 
discipline? 
Or was it President Jonathan's lack of vision that 
prompted the United Nations to release data that 
showed that under Jonathan's watch, Average Life 
Expectancy in Nigeria has risen from 47 years in 
2009 to 52 years today? 
Is President Jonathan "visionless" when all 
elections held under his watch have been adjudged 
credible and transparent. From Edo, to Anambra, 
to Ondo, to Ekiti to Osun and Niger, it has been a 
case of one man one vote, one woman one vote, 
one youth, one vote.
A few Nigerians may not like the President's 
Transformation Agenda, but at least, all Nigerians 
have heard of it.
The million dollar question is who has heard of the 
agenda of Professor Osinbajo's party other than 
the use of the cliche 'change'? 
Yes, Obama used the key words 'yes we can' to 
ride to power in 2008, but he had a brain Trust 
that came up with a plan.
Are we meant to change for the sake of change? 
I must confess that I am personally fed up with 
politicians who speak negatively about Nigeria and 
its leaders just because they want power.
Pastor Osinbajo regularly leads his congregation in 
prayers. But let me ask him if it makes any sense 
physically or spiritually to speak negatively about 
your nation and pray positively about yourself as 
if you can prosper in your home after cursing it 
with your mouth? 
Nigerians expect Professor Osinbajo to wake up 
and smell the coffee and start telling them what 
he, his principal and their party plan for Nigeria 
and not to spend his time throwing stones at the innocent.
Gone are the days when you promote a candidate 
based on his region and religion. And Nigerians are 
far too aware in 2014-5 for any politician to 
grandstand by using highfalutin empty words to 
cast aspersions on his/her opponent in order to 
hide the inadequacy of their vision and plans.
I understand that when all you have is a hammer 
everything begins to look like a nail and so having 
nothing but criticism to dish out, Osinbajo is likely 
to keep throwing stones. However, seeing as he is 
a pastor, let me remind Professor Osinbajo of the 
immortal words of Jesus to critics in John 8:7-"he 
that is without sin among you, let him first cast a 
stone".
As we approach 2015, I would like to point out 
something to Professor Osinbajo.
In 2011, there were four major Presidential 
candidates: President Goodluck Jonathan of the 
PDP, Nuhu Ribadu of the ACN, Ibrahim Shekarau 
of the ANPP and Muhamaddu Buhari of the CPC.
Does it not say much about President Jonathan's 
vision and his ability to communicate it effectively 
that of the three candidates who contested 
against him in 2011, two of them, Nuhu Ribadu 
and Ibrahim Shekarau, today share his vision for 
Nigeria and are helping him actualize it within the 
Peoples Democratic Party? 
It says a lot about the President. And especially, 
it is evidence of the fact that President Jonathan 
is a man of vision.
Who knows, maybe Professor Osinbajo will see the 
light and come to appreciate the President's vision 
after the 2015 election.
This has been a constant pattern with Buhari's 
running mates from 2007's Ume Ezeoke who saw 
enough reason to work with the PDP after that 
election, to Pastor Tunde Bakare, who shared and 
participated in the President's vision for a 
National Conference for Nigeria.
In conclusion, let me say that it is obvious to all 
discerning people that God has blessed this man 
from Otuoke known as President Goodluck 
Jonathan. Without godfather, without scheming, 
without over ambition, God divinely set him on a 
trajectory that has seen him ascend the highest 
office in the land.
Even when power was within his grasp, the then 
Vice President Goodluck Jonathan refused to take 
it, preferring to wait on God to elevate him.
I can say without a shadow of a doubt in my mind 
that God has put President Jonathan where he is.
And until He is done with him, no man, no pastor, 
no prophet can curse whom God has not cursed.

T.B Joshua to fly in family members of church collapse victims for holiday in Nigeria

Prophet TB Joshua is flying the families of the 
victims of his church’s collapse disaster, to Lagos 
to spend Christmas and the New Year with him.
This is according to the church spokesman, Kirsten 
Nematandani. What he said below...
“The prophet has invited the families of the 
deceased to come and spend time out there 
at the synagogue with the other church 
members for Christmas and very 
importantly… the end of the year 
candlelight services. The purpose is to spend 
time with the families. As we know the 
families are going through a difficult time… 
this is part of the process the church is undergoing.
We want to express messages of sympathy 
and condolences to those families and hoping 
that the time will come when those bodies 
will come home. The church will be on the 
ground with them, sending them love and 
support from TB Joshua, even though it could 
be seen as a black Christmas”.
The church members would also offer the 
bereaved families spiritual and emotional 
support and they would have a chance to 
interact with Prophet TB Joshua. He would 
fund the entire trip including all transport, 
accommodation, meals and visa applications.
Those families who were unable to visit the 
church because they did not have 
documentation or already had other plans 
were invited to come to the church at a 
later stage.
The families visiting the church would spend 
their time attending church services and 
programmes. He also said Joshua would not 
rest until the bodies were sent home.

Lol. Which one is occultic significance again? 
According to Okotie, President Jonathan's 
Presidential declation on November 11 2014 at the 
Eagle squares has occultic significance. He says 
the number, 11, is a sacred number in the 
occultic world and that it demonstrates an 
appeasement of the powers of darkness to favour 
the supplicant. He said this and many more in a 
piece titled "2015 and our crony democracy" 
posted on his facebook wall.
Season’s greetings to my teeming readers. Let me 
still serve you a morsel of politics even as we 
celebrate the joyous Yuletide season. The mood 
isn’t cheery because of the horror of senseless 
bloodletting by the Boko Haram insurgents, but 
life must go on, in the hope that things will get 
better in the New Year; even if they seem 
otherwise at the moment.Our politicians are self- 
serving and uncaring, but we are a resilient people 
who always ride out of every storm.
The noisy campaigns of the Presidential 
nominations of the two major parties- the ruling 
PDP and the APC, appear to have eclipsed the 
nation’s top headliners of 2014, such as the Chibok 
girls abduction, and the random seizure of 
territories by the rampaging Boko Haram 
terrorists. Also submerged in the nomination 
hoopla are the impeachment of Governor Murtala 
Nyako and the defection of the five PDP 
governors that triggered it; Ayo Fayose’s 
upstaging of APC’s Kayode Fayemi in the Ekiti 
Governorship elections, the dramatic fall of crude 
oil price and its implications for our oil-dependent 
economy, and the recruitment exercise that left 
scores of young graduate job-seekers dead from stampedes.
All of these and other major headline news of 2014 
may soon be a distant memory, but we can’t easily 
forget the failure of the national soccer team 
and defending champions, the Super Eagles, to 
qualify for the African Cup of Nations, the Air 
Force plane that was shot down by the Boko 
Haram insurgents and one of the pilots reportedly 
beheaded. Indeed, with its gruesome operations 
getting to new levels of cruelty, Boko Haram 
stretched our military to the limit, and exposed 
the decay and dismal state of our armed services.
That was what came to light in 2014, but must 
never be allowed to continue in 2015.
The Ebola Virus Disease, EVD, came and was 
defeated, but not until after claiming the lives of 
some victims including Dr. Stella Ameyo Adadevoh 
and other patriots; rather than plan how to 
prevent future resurgence, the APC and the 
ruling PDP were bickering over whom to credit 
with the arrest of the disease. Of course, 2014 
produced its fair share of scandals and corruption 
in high places too numerous to mention.
Sad to recall, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor’s private jet 
which was involved in the cash for arms scandal, 
was a major headline news about which I wrote a 
commentary, which provoked CAN’s response in 
pedestrian vulgarity, which I declined to nobilitate 
with a retort. The pain for Nigerians is the 
impunity with which perpetrators loot the treasury 
under the watch of President Goodluck Jonathan.
President Jonathan and his strategists should be 
having a big laugh after a ‘hard-won’ battle that 
finally handed His Excellency an unprecedented 
sole candidacy of the ruling People’s Democratic 
Party, PDP, in the 2015 presidential elections, 
with a loud declaration at a rally on November 11, 
2014. Gen. Mohammadu Buhari (Rtd) is flying the 
flag of the APC, having clinched the party’s 
ticket in closely fought primaries.
The implication of Dr. Jonathan’s declaration on 
that day (11-11-2014)has occultic significance.
When the number is repeated, it takes a greater 
ritualistic intensity. In this case, we have 
11-11-11, because when you add the date 
11-11-2014 as a year together, you arrive at 11 
also. This is in consonance with occultic 
numerology.
In the pre-natural world, the number 11 is a 
powerful occultic number: it represents judgment, 
destruction and death of man. Each digit in the 
11-11-2014 date, when added together, viz: 
1+1+1+1+2+0+1+4, you get 11. That’s why the 
declaration was done on 11/11/2014, which is the 
highest level of occultic numerology. 
This sacred 
number in the occultic world demonstrates an 
appeasement of the powers of darkness to favour 
the supplicant. The name of satan in Latin is LVX. 
L is 50, V is 5 and X is 10. When you add that 
together, you get 65. When you add 6 + 5, you 
get 11. Satan’s number is 11.
The question is; was this declaration orchestrated 
by occultic considerations, or is it a mere 
coincidence? Since 11 represents; judgment, 
destruction and death of man, can we extrapolate 
from the experiences of President Goodluck 
Jonathan’s administration so far that number 11 
has been prevalent in our nation? Has there been 
spiritual judgment, has there been destruction and 
death on a large scale? You, be the judge.
If the Church of Jesus Christ appreciates this 
understanding, they’ll be more reluctant to 
gravitate in the direction of President Jonathan, 
even though the leaderships of CAN and PFN have 
made a subtle endorsement of his candidacy.
President Jonathan does not belong to the Davidic 
genealogy; he belongs to the house of Saul and 
invokes the spirit of Jeroboam. He swears by the 
Lord and Malcham. He that hath an ear let him hear.
Fixing all the fault lines of 2014 must begin with 
the management of the usual post-election crisis 
which is the hallmark of every transition in 
Nigeria. Whatever the outcome of the Presidential 
elections, the polity would likely quake as the 
vanquished beat the drums of war against the 
backdrop of grandstanding by the victors. If we 
have embraced a paradigm shift as I have 
suggested, Nigeria would have gone a different way.
Despite all of that, and the likely unpleasant fall- 
out of the forthcoming general elections, Nigeria 
will survive as usual. Expect threats of war, but 
surely, the Nigerian political class is too timid to 
roll out the tanks for battle, because, nobody 
would like to put his life on the line over a lost 
election.
Unfortunately, our gullible youths do not know 
this. They are usually the canon fodders who bear 
the brunt of the violence. The political elites use 
them to unleash on any post-election conflict, 
while the politicians and their cronies escape to 
safe havens where they enjoy their loot. Be that 
as it may, the voters have the final choice to 
make in these crucial elections.

A fire outbreak at the Universal Medical Clinic 
(Specialist Children Clinic) in Oke Ibukun Street, 
off Araromi area in Akure, the Ondo state capital 
has sadly claimed the life of its owner, Dr David 
Adetayo Oguntuase who was burnt beyond 
recognition yesterday December 25th.
According to reports, the fire started at about 
12midnight and caught the Doctor unawares inside 
his office. One of the nurses who spoke on the 
condition of anonymity, said the doctor came in 
yesterday morning and asked them to take the 
day off so they could spend some time with their 
family and instructed them to lock all the doors 
and windows of the hospital before they leave... 
Some hours later, the hospital was on fire, and Dr 
Oguntuase was burnt to death. The police are 
investigating the cause of the fire. 
According to 
a nurse, no patient was in the hospital during the 
inferno as they had all been discharged due to 
the Christmas celebration

Should married women cut off their single friends? - Adejoro Olumofin asks

Let's talk Volume 1. (Should married women 
cut off their single friends?). 
Psychometrics 
has shown that some married women cut off 
their single friends. This has ended long 
term friendships, even with siblings, caused 
envy, strained childhood relationships and 
created bitter rivalries.
Should married women have only married 
friends? Some married women who have cut 
their friends off claim that : 
(1) Their focus has changed and they no longer 
have similar interests or anything in common with 
their single friends 
(2) They don't want to get tempted back into 
single ladies behavioural pattern or lifestyle such 
that they develop a level of respect for being 
married 
(3) They don't want their single friends close to 
their husbands because of temptation on both 
sides as well as keeping boundaries of respect for 
their spouse.. 
(4) The believe that single ladies are jealous of 
them and could therefore be a threat to their 
marriage in one way or another 
(5) Disapproval of certain friends from the spouse 
(6) Some friends have always opposed and still 
oppose their marriage and are always looking to 
pick a fault in either the spouse or the marriage 
(7) The feeling of superiority over single friends 
from the idea that there is somewhat a level 
attained above them 
(8)Protection from talking to friends about their 
marriages and giving them the gun to use against 
them 
Are these reasons valid and true? 
This does not apply to all married women obviously 
but this is a very popular phenomenon in Nigeria..
There is no fixed solution or stand on this because 
what works for Mrs "A" may not work for Mrs 
"B", this is relative to individuals. Everyone knows 
what works for them, the type of friends they 
have and the type of husbands they have. Some 
friends may have Ill motives and some friends may 
not, some husbands may chase your friends some 
husbands may not.
Let's make sure what ever decision we make is 
based on best interest for the marriage to work 
and for all parties but always beneficial to us. 
Also make sure to put facts into consideration .
I.e the history you have with some friends and 
your husbands personality. If you have any friend 
that has a history of snatching your boyfriends 
then you clearly don't want her near your 
husband. Same If you have friends who are always 
in competition with you or backbiting you etc 
Don't cut your friends off because people are 
doing it. Rather establish there a balance between 
all relationships including family, friendship and marriage.

Biblical Evidence Shows Jesus Christ Wasn't Born on Dec.25
Is it even possible that December 25 could be the day of Christ's birth?
History convincingly shows that Dec. 
25 was popularized as the date for 
Christmas, not because Christ was 
born on that day but because it was 
already popular in pagan religious 
celebrations as the birthday of the 
sun.
But is it possible that December 25 
could be the day of Christ's birth?
"Lacking any scriptural pointers to 
Jesus's birthday, early Christian 
teachers suggested dates all over 
the calendar. Clement. . . picked 
November 18. Hippolytus . . . 
figured Christ must have been born 
on a Wednesday . . . An anonymous 
document[,] believed to have been 
written in North Africa around A.D. 
243, placed Jesus's birth on March 
28" (Jeffery Sheler, U.S. News & World Report, "In Search of Christmas," Dec. 23, 
1996, p. 58).
A careful analysis of Scripture, however, clearly indicates that Dec. 25 is an unlikely 
date for Christ's birth. Here are two primary reasons:
First, we know that shepherds were in the fields watching their flocks at the time of 
Jesus' birth ( Luke:2:7-8 ). Shepherds were not in the fields during December. 
According to Celebrations: The Complete Book of American Holidays, Luke's account 
"suggests that Jesus may have been born in summer or early fall. Since December is 
cold and rainy in Judea, it is likely the shepherds would have sought shelter for their 
flocks at night" (p. 309).
Similarly, The Interpreter's One-Volume Commentary says this passage argues 
"against the birth [of Christ] occurring on Dec. 25 since the weather would not have 
permitted" shepherds watching over their flocks in the fields at night.
Second, Jesus' parents came to Bethlehem to register in a Roman census ( Luke:2:1-4 
). Such censuses were not taken in winter, when temperatures often dropped below 
freezing and roads were in poor condition. Taking a census under such conditions 
would have been self-defeating. 
Given the difficulties and the desire to bring pagans into Christianity, "the 
important fact then . . . to get clearly into your head is that the fixing of the date 
as December 25th was a compromise with paganism" (William Walsh, The Story of 
Santa Klaus, 1970, p. 62).
If Jesus Christ wasn't born on December 25, does the Bible indicate when He was born?
The biblical accounts point to the fall of the year as the most likely time of Jesus' 
birth, based on the conception and birth of John the Baptist.
Since Elizabeth (John's mother) was in her sixth month of pregnancy when Jesus was 
conceived ( Luke:1:24-36 ), we can determine the approximate time of year Jesus was 
born if we know when John was born. John's father, Zacharias, was a priest serving in 
the Jerusalem temple during the course of Abijah ( Luke:1:5 ).
Historical calculations 
indicate this course of service corresponded to June 13-19 in that year ( The Companion Bible, 1974, Appendix 179, p. 200).
It was during this time of temple service that Zacharias learned that he and his wife 
Elizabeth would have a child ( Luke:1:8-13 ). After he completed his service and 
traveled home, Elizabeth conceived ( Luke:1:23-24 ). Assuming John's conception took 
place near the end of June, adding nine months brings us to the end of March as the 
most likely time for John's birth.
Adding another six months (the difference in ages 
between John and Jesus) brings us to the end of September as the likely time of Jesus' birth.

Dangote Loses $7.8 billion as Naira, stocks plunge

A few weeks ago, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin 
Emefiele, announced a nearly 10% devaluation of the Naira, Nigeria’s currency, 
after admitting that a plunge in world oil prices and dwindling dollar reserves 
were making it difficult to defend the value of the currency. The Naira is now 
trading at N187 to $1, compared to N165 in November. In dollar terms, the 
devaluation has knocked more than $40 billion off the value of Nigeria’s 
economy.
Dangote is the biggest loser among Nigeria’s richest people as the Naira’s slump, 
coupled with falling stock prices, has erased more than $7.8b of his fortune 
since Feb, when Forbes locked in the values for its annual ranking of the World’s Billionaires.
Dangote was worth $25 billion at the time; as of market close on Tuesday, he’s 
worth $17.2 billion. More than half of the drop in his fortune has happened since 
early November. As of Nov. 7, Dangote was worth $21.6 billion, $4.4 billion more than now.
Here’s why: The last few weeks have been a bit of a disaster for many companies 
listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange. Several blue-chip stocks such as Dangote 
Cement, Zenith Bank, Transcorp and United Bank of Africa among several others 
have hit one-year-lows as a result of the fall in oil prices, a general uncertainty 
regarding the 2015 general elections, Central Bank regulatory headwinds, and 
weak earnings from large cap companies. These have all contributed toward 
putting naira-denominated assets including equities at risk.
After Dangote, the second biggest loser among Nigeria’s ultra-rich is Tony 
Elumelu, the Chairman of Heirs Holdings, an investment company. Heirs Holdings, 
which is wholly-owned by Elumelu, is the controlling shareholder in Transcorp, a 
publicly-listed conglomerate with interests in power production, hotels and 
agriculture. Transcorp’s current market capitalization is now $700 million, down 
from $1.4 billion at the beginning of November. Heirs Holdings has lost an 
estimated $345 million in paper value on Transcorp, and its stake in the company 
as at Monday is now worth roughly $400 million, down from $700 million.
Elumelu’s investments in other listed companies like UBA, Africa Prudential PLC 
and UBA Capital have shed a little over $27 million in value.
Other big losers include Nigerian multi-millionaire banker Jim Ovia, a co-founder 
of Zenith Bank. The value of his stake in the financial services provider is $240 
million as of late Monday, down from more than $350 million last month. He owns 
a 9% stake in the bank.

The Kano State Commissioner of Police Alhaji 
Tashid Aderile Shinaba said she was arrested by 
police officers who found her moves suspicious.
When interrogated, the young girl said her father 
was the one who took her to the people who 
strapped her with the bombs.
According to her, the unknown men told her she 
had to carry out the suicide attack in order to 
make heaven. She said the men told her they 
would kill her if she doesn't follow through with 
the bomb attack. The Kano state government 
however said that the young girl was not one of 
the missing Chibok girls.

A suicide bomber who rammed into a military 
check point in Bajoga, Gombe State 
yesterday, failed to achieve his mission. His 
attempt to escape also failed as he was 
brought down by vigilant soldiers when he

Photos of the teenager shot dead by police in St.Louis yesterday

This is the 18 year old young man who was shot 
dead yesterday Dec. 23rd by a police officer at a 
gas station not far from where Michael Brown was 
killed in Ferguson, Missouri. But the police say this 
is a totally different case because Antonio Martin 
had a gun and pointed it at 34yr old unnamed 
officer, who pulled out his own gun and shot three 
times, killing Antonio.
Antonio pictured above pointing a gun at the police 
officer as the officer responded to a call of a 
theft in the area. The police officer fired three 
shots, one hitting the teen. Antonio, who didn't 
fire his weapon, was pronounced dead at the scene 
by responding EMS officers.
During a press conference later, the police said 
Antonio was known to them and had previous 
charges including three assaults, armed robbery, 
armed criminal action and multiple uses of 
weapons since he was 17.

Here's a sad photo of Jordanian pilot who was 
captured by ISIS militants after his warplane was 
shot down while he was conducting airstrikes over 
Syria. ISIS shared photos of his capture on Twitter
Jordanian Information Minister Mohammad Momani 
told AP that First Lieutenant Mu'ath Safi Yousef 
al-Kaseasbeh's plane was shot down by 'ground 
fire'. This is the first time a foreign soldier will 
fall into ISIS hand since the U.S-led coalition 
began its air campaign against the extremists.
The 27 year old pilot is said to be from a 
prominent Jordanian family. His family said 
Mu'ath felt it was a religious duty to fight ISIS 
because they were 'distorting the true spirit of 
Islam'. His family has publicly begged for mercy, 
asking ISIS to release him but that's probably not 
going to happen..
ISIS are now reportedly in possession of MANPADS 
- shoulder-fired anti-aircraft missiles
