HIV positive Kenny Badmus says he can still have children and get married if he wants to

Facebook page on December 1st, to reveal how 
he's been living successfully with HIV for the last 
15 years (read story here ), just revealed that he 
can get married and have children if he wants to 
despite being HIV positive. what he wrote below...
One of the most frequently asked questions 
from hundreds of emails I received after 
December 1st is : Will you be able to get 
married and have a child if you are HIV 
positive? [ or if you are going through some 
major medical issue ].
Let me cut to the chase here and say a bold 
yes. [ If I want to ]. Being Positive does not 
preclude anyone from getting married or 
having children – thank God for science.
Research suggests that anti-HIV therapy during 
pregnancy plus planned caesarean delivery may 
reduce the risk of transmission to as low as 1 in 
50 women. ( AidsMap) The question is ‘how many of 
these women are accessing healthcare? If you 
want to have a healthy child and you are HIV +, 
quickly get on therapy and follow your doctor’s 
advice.
To be in love or starting to date again should not 
scare anyone. And you don’t have to start looking 
for HIV positive people to date. There are people 
out there – though very few- who care less what 
your sero status is. The best prevention you can 
give your lover/spouse, if they are negative, is 
for you to ensure you are on treatment. Yes.
The second largest study – 052- to look at 
whether people with HIV become non-infectious if 
they are on antiretroviral therapy (ART) has 
found no cases where someone with a viral load 
under 200 copies/ml transmitted HIV, either by 
anal or vaginal sex. Although this study continues 
into 2017, with best practices and eliminations of 
other STDs, it’s almost impossible to infect your 
partner with HIV if you are adhering to your 
treatment. Even if you don’t use condoms.

Having established the foregoings, the most 
important thing for me are the psychosocial issues 
surrounding the quest for marriage and having a 
child. It is more of a traditional thing for most of 
us in Africa to want to get married or have a 
child by all means. In my opinion, I think it’s a 
very dogmatic way of living our lives. Why live to 
make others approve of you? It’s not worth it. 
Marriage or having children do not guarantee our 
lives will be better.
As someone who had lived with these societal 
expectations for many years myself, I became 
healthier and emancipated the day I dropped 
these societal impositions. Check this page soon to 
see my journey into marriage, love, parenting and 
more. I have seen people in marriages who are 
very happy, and I have seen people in marriages 
who are very miserable. I have seen people with 
children who are very happy.
Just the same way I have seen people with children 
who are very lonely and miserable in their old age. 
What brings happiness is living our best lives. 
Marriage or being being married does not solve all 
our problems if we enter into it for all the wrong 
reasons. Being in love is much better. Marriage is 
a legalistic way of looking at love. It allows for 
claims, societal celebrations and approvals of our 
mates. You don’t have to be in love to get 
married.
The two are not mutually exclusive although they 
are better when they go hand in hand. Hence, the 
sham marriages around us today. But you have to 
be in love to say you are in love. Love has no true 
love or false love. Marriage on the other hand can 
be falsified. I’d rather you pushed towards being 
in and finding love. And if that love leads to 
marriage, how lucky are you! Embrace it. Do it to 
gain the legal benefits if you have to marry. 
Having a child is about the same. If you can have 
your own child biologically, embrace it, and cherish 
it. Science also has made this possible. We should 
look at this at other time. If you cannot, go pour 
your love on other children around you. Children 
are the most visible victims of undernutrition. 
According to worldhunger.org , ‘children who are 
poorly nourished suffer up to 160 days of illness 
each year. Poor nutrition plays a role in at least 
half of the 10.9 million child deaths each year– 
five million deaths.’
Further statistics reveals that undernutrition 
magnifies the effect of every disease, including 
measles and malaria. The estimated proportions of 
deaths in which undernutrition is an underlying 
cause are roughly similar for diarrhea (61%), 
malaria (57%), pneumonia (52%), and measles 
(45%) (Black 2003, Bryce 2005). You can be a 
godmother. A foster parent. An adoptive father. 
The list goes on.

They adopted Linda Johnson-Rice, who carried on 
their legacies. History has thousands of such 
couples. Having a womb and a dick do not make 
parenting. What makes great parenting is our 
heart of love.So there you have it. Remove the 
limitations and the dogmas surrounding your life, 
and go have some fantastic authentic life. Love. 
Travel. Eat well. Go volunteering. Give. Buy 
chocolates. Go partying. Dance. Laugh. Read new 
books. Write. Take pictures and #LIVE

Mortein steps up with innovative variant to strengthen malaria fight in Nigeria

Speaking about the launch of the new variant of Mortein, the Marketing Director, 
West Africa, Reckitt Benckiser, Oguzhan Silivrili represented by the Brand Manager, 
Mortein, Ms. Iku Ejiro, said the development of the new product was informed by the 
need to stem the prevalence of malaria scourge in the country and Africa generally.
According to him, there are estimated 300 million acute cases of malaria every year 
around the world, resulting in more than one million deaths while approximately 90 
percent of these deaths occur in Africa, mostly in young children.
Silivrili decried the high malaria prevalence in Nigeria as ‘‘unacceptable’’, saying 
‘‘malaria is responsible for 60 percent of outpatient visits to health facilities, 30 
percent of childhood deaths, 25 percent of deaths in children under one year and 11 
percent of maternal deaths.’’
He affirmed Reckitt Benckiser’s commitment to the elimination of malaria in the 
country even as he was optimistic that effective collaboration and implementation of 
targeted initiatives could make this achievable.
‘Malaria can be eliminated in Nigeria which is the reason Reckitt Benckiser is taking 
the lead. We have made strategic partnership with the National Malaria Elimination 
Programme (NMEP), the lead agency of the Federal Ministry of Health on the 
elimination of malaria; also, we work closely with the National Association of Nigeria 
Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) and other relevant government bodies’ Silivrili said.
‘We also have the Anti-malaria education-New mum program reaching out to over 
500,000 mums, our Primary Health Centre (PHC) activations reaching over 10,000 
mums and the church/mosque activations in top 5 cities in Nigeria’
“In the last few years, we have moved pan-Nigeria with our Anti-Malaria Campaign 
by equipping Nigerians with the right information on how to protect themselves from 
mosquitoes and stay healthy. Our New Mum Programmes (NMP) has reached 
approximately 5 million new moms in the hospitals since inception; we also have the 
mobile clinic, Health On Wheels (HOW) going door-to-door across Nigeria and open 
market activations in top 15 states in Nigeria. We have also enjoyed massive exploit 
across digital platforms especially through our youtube infomercial with the National 
Coordinator of National Malaria Elimination Programme (NMEP), Dr. Nnenna Ezeigwe 
engendering almost 2 million impressions in Nigeria.’’ he stated.
Silivrili explained further that despite the large number of people reached in Nigeria, 
Reckitt Benckiser is not relenting on the journey because there is need to rescue 
many more Nigerians from malaria scourge. “This is the philosophy behind the launch 
of the new Mortein automatic insect control system. It is the first of its kind in 
Nigeria, providing a convenient and preventive option against malaria without 
electricity,’’ he added.
The Mortein automatic insect control system which is safe to use when the room is 
properly ventilated is available at a cost of N2000 for the complete set and N1100 
for the refill pack across stores nationwide.

Warning over volatile comments: PDP backs Pres. Jonathan, insists violence is APC’s ideology

The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has thrown its weight 
behind President Goodluck Jonathan on his warning to leaders of the opposition 
All Progressives Congress (APC) and some former office holders to desist from 
sowing seeds of discord among the people with their incendiary utterances.
PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, in a statement on Saturday 
described Mr. President's statement as a "perfect act in nationalism, the mark 
of true leader who is committed to the interest and welfare of the nation and 
her citizens” and urged the opposition to heed this caution, show decency, 
patriotism and shun do-or-die quest for power.
The Party said that the President had shown as always that he is “a committed 
national and patriotic leader, a decent politician, a lover of a united, stable and 
prosperous Nigeria and a champion of the integrity of the nation’s electoral process.”
According to the PDP, “it is the height of hypocrisy that the APC, known for making 
inflammatory and divisive statements would turn round to point a finger of guilt at the President.
“It is indeed unfortunate that instead of retracing their steps, as all well-meaning 
citizens would have done under the circumstance, the APC, in their desperation, went 
ahead to justify their unguarded statements with renewed personal attack on the President.
“By refusing to heed calls by patriotic Nigerians including the President to shed their 
penchant for inciting statements, and for showing no remorse over the fact that 
their statements fuel violence and insurgency, the APC has again confirmed that it is 
a party of unpatriotic elements on a mission to destroy our country.
“This has further confirmed that APC is a party of determined and irredeemable 
anarchists; a tool in the hands of enemies of our dear nation whose agenda is to 
divide the people and break up the nation for their selfish interests.
“Nigerians can now see the real reason the APC has been attacking, not only the 
Presidency but also key institutions of government, including the National Assembly, 
the judiciary, INEC as well as the military and other security forces. 
For the APC, 
every institution that represents or protects the unity of the nation must be 
attacked, weakened and ultimately destroyed.”
The PDP said this was the agenda behind the move by the APC to politicise the 
military and other security agencies, including the DSS and the Police.
“Nigerians were shocked and we find it very absurd that the leadership of the APC 
justified the unhealthy comments by the Director General of the Presidential 
Campaign Organisation of the APC and Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, who 
came under the cloak of fake populism to attempt to politicise the military.
“While some people thought that Amaechi was alone in an attention-seeking stunt, the 
justification by the APC has clearly shown that he was pursing his party’s ignoble 
agenda, which is to drag the military into the political arena, destroy its unity and 
professionalism and ultimately weaken it ahead of their plot to unleash mayhem in the 
country by forming a parallel government after they must have lost the 2015 
Presidential election,” it said.
Stating that the Jonathan administration has rebuilt and re-equipped the military to 
confront the current security challenges, the PDP however called on Nigerians and all 
lovers of democracy to be vigilant and close ranks to ensure that the enemies of the 
nation do not have their way.
Insisting that the indivisibility of the nation is non-negotiable, the PDP restated its 
commitment to the unity and corporate existence of the nation and urged Nigerians 
to ensure that they expressed their resolve to live together as one people by voting 
en-masse for the PDP in the 2015 general elections.

54 soldiers sentenced to death by Nigerian military allegedly starved of food

54 soldiers sentenced to death for mutiny by a military court  in Abuja last 
Wednesday Dec.17th, are reportedly being starved of food and basic care, a military 
source told Premium Times 
The soldiers, who were transferred from Abuja to Lagos on Sunday December 21st, 
are said to be serially shackled by their legs and crammed in two cells without beds 
or food or any form of care..
“The first cell has 30 soldiers. The second is underground and has 24 soldiers.
There are no beds, no mattresses. The soldiers have not been fed since Sunday.” 
the source said.
The soldiers have been in this condition since they arrived Lagos Sunday Dec. 21st till 
Wednesday December 24th but no one knows if their conditions have since improved.

What  are the low moments of your marriage, 
and how have you been able to manage? 
Mine is different because of my job. 
The low 
moments are times when she would cry 
because I wasn’t around. These times has been 
difficult for us. There was a time I travelled 
out of Nigeria for two months. 
Although 
during the period, I came to Nigeria three 
times, and when I was about leaving the next 
day, she was crying profusely. 
How do you make-up?
am in the country, we 
have fun together. Like now, she’s here with 
me. She follows me to everywhere I go.
I am 
also a houseboy, whenever I’m home, I do not 
leave the house. I spend every moment with 
my family; my wife and the kids. 
What are those chores you do at home that 
people don’t expect? 
I cook. I try, I can’t really say I’m a good 
cook. But I cook for my family.
Advice to other couples 
I’m not that experienced to start giving 
advice to older people but, everything centres 
on love and understanding in every 
relationship. Look at our parents, after 30-40 
years of marriage, they are still together.
Then, you ask yourself, what are they doing 
right? What are they doing wrong? Then, you 
find out that they are patient and tolerant.
Our parents are tolerant but children of 
today are not. We’re more materiali-stic, no 
genuine love. I think, we should learn from 
our parents. If not that my dad had passed 
on; he would still be married. Don’t just 
marry somebody because she’s pretty or she’s 
from a rich family.

Why I Won’t Have Office For First Lady – Buhari

Former head of state, Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the All 
Progressives Congress (APC) has said he will not have an office for first lady if 
he is elected into power in the forthcoming 2015 elections.
Giving his reason, Buhari said there is no office of first lady in the Nigerian 
constitution and there is no official role for presidents’ wives.
He disclosed this during an exclusive interview with Weekly Trust in Kaduna.

According to him, there are ministries which are constitutional like the Ministry 
of Women Affairs and they should be allowed to play their roles.

as he knows what they can do if given the opportunity.
“I was raised by my mother, as I lost my father when I was under six years, so I 
know what a woman can do if given the chance,” Buhari said.
He explained that he had the greatest respect for women.

Lady shares How She Lures Men & Cuts Off their Private Organs for Money Rituals

Uche Agunta is a 23 year old lady who has been arrested and is being held 
custody at the Imo State Police Command.
She was arrested for hunting male organs which are used for money rituals.
The secondary school dropout has been long successful in carrying out the task 
by luring men with sex and at the height of ecstasy, using a razor blade to cut 
off their private organs.
Sun Newspaper interviewed Uche. She explained how she was caught when she 
tried to cut a 38 year old man’s manhood.
“I am a prostitute and I smoke. I have a gang and we specialise in sleeping 
with men and cutting their manhood during sex. We use the manhood for 
money rituals. I have killed seven men in the hotel in Owerri. They had sex with 
me after they have paid me N3, 000 or N5, 000. I would be on top of the man 
and in the process I would bring out blade and cut off his manhood.

N150, 000 for each manhood we could supply, and which they used for money 
ritual.
I dropped out at JSS 3. I stopped going to school when I lost my father, but 
my mother is still alive. I joined a gang where some ladies initiated me into a 
cult. Our main concern is going after male organ for ritual.
I have given birth to three children. I sold the first and second children for 
N200, 000 each. The third child is a boy and he is staying with my mother.
On November 2014, the man met me at Oyima Street, Owerri. He gave me 
N2,000 to have sex with me. It was around 3.00pm. The victim took me to the 
hotel in Owerri and he was having sex with me.
I was on top of him and when he was enjoying it, I brought out my blade and I 
started cutting his manhood. But it hadn’t cut off when he started to shout 
for help. Then they came to arrest me and he was rushed to the hospital. I 
was arrested and I have confessed to the police.”
The Imo State Commissioner of Police Abdulmajid Ali confirmed the story to 
reporters, and also said Uche will soon be charged to court.

Femi & I will work together only when money is no longer coming in - Seun Kuti

When asked in an interview with Saturday Punch if 
people would ever see him and his half brother 
Femi Kuti collaborate, Seun Kutu replied;
Collaborations like that are money spinners. 
If we would collaborate, it is not because we 
want to do something great for music 
because we are already making great music 
individually. But if we do it, it would mainly 
be for financial reason. We agreed that as 
soon as we feel our career is slowing down 
and money is not coming as it should, we 
would jump into the studio and do a money spinner.
Asked why he hardly get engagements in 
Nigeria, Seun said 
I don’t know. I come back here to rest 
because I don’t get jobs here. I don’t 
understand it as well. At times, I am 
saddened by it because it is just a shame. It 
is not even about me but the band which has 
the pedigree of being a big band. But just 
for political reasons, we are being excluded. I 
believe afro beat should be in high demand in 
Nigeria, Fela did a lot for Nigerians. I watch 
the shows here and it is not as if they are 
better than what I do. 
Asked if he was serious about never getting 
married, Seun said;
I don’t believe in marriage. If I had wanted 
to be married, I would have been working 
towards it. People can decide what they want 
to do with their lives. I just don’t believe in 
that institution especially as it is set up today 
I don’t like the idea of ‘ownership.’ 
Nobody 
has the right to own anybody. This is a 
capitalist idea so that people can make 
profit off love. You don’t make profit off love. 
What if the mother of his child decides to 
get married to someone else?
She is free. If she wants to be married, 
then that is her choice. What will I do about 
it? Will I put a gun to her head and insist 
that she should not get married? But I know 
she will not do that because we have a strong 
bond and we understand each other and our 
partnership is great. We are raising a 
beautiful daughter and it would be a big 
surprise if she says she wants to get 
married to someone else.

Super Eagles striker Brown Ideye buys $250k Rolls Royce

Super Eagles striker Brown Ideye, 26, who a few 
months ago signed a three-year deal with English 
Premier League club West Bromwich Albion, 
becoming the club's record signing at £10million, 
recently acquired a Rolls Royce Ghost Series II

North Korea blasts U.S over release of 'The Interview', calls Obama a monkey

North Korea called President Barack Obama "a 
monkey" and blamed the U.S. on Saturday for 
shutting down its Internet amid the hacking row 
over the comedy "The Interview."
North Korea has denied involvement in a crippling 
cyberattack on Sony Pictures but has expressed 
fury over the comedy depicting an assassination of 
its leader Kim Jong Un. After Sony Pictures 
initially called off the release in a decision 
criticized by Obama, the movie has opened this 
week.
On Saturday, the North's powerful National 
Defense Commission, the country's top governing 
body led by Kim, said that Obama was behind the 
release of "The Interview." It described the movie 
as illegal, dishonest and reactionary.
"Obama always goes reckless in words and deeds 
like a monkey in a tropical forest," an 
unidentified spokesman at the commission's Policy 
Department said in a statement carried by the 
official Korean Central News Agency.
"If the U.S. is to persistently insist that the 
hacking attack was made by the DPRK, the U.S. 
should produce evidence without fail, though 
belatedly," the statement publish by KCNA said.
He also accused Washington for intermittent 
outages of North Korea websites this week, after 
the U.S. had promised to respond to the Sony hack.
There was no immediate reaction from the White House on Saturday.
According to the North Korea commission's 
spokesman, "the U.S., a big country, started 
disturbing the Internet operation of major media 
of the DPRK, not knowing shame like children playing a tag."
The commission said the movie was the results of a 
hostile U.S. policy toward North Korea, and 
threatened the U.S. with unspecified 
consequences.
North Korea and the U.S. remain technically in a 
state of war because the 1950-53 Korean War 
ended with an armistice, not a peace treaty. The 
rivals also are locked in an international standoff 
over the North's nuclear and missile programs and 
its alleged human rights abuses. The U.S. stations 
about 28,500 troops in South Korea as deterrence 
against North Korean aggression.

The wife of former President Laurent Gbagbo has been charged along with 82 
supporters of her husband. Mr Gbagbo is awaiting trial at the International 
Criminal Court (ICC) on charges of crimes against humanity.
Some 3,000 people died in violence after the ex-president refused to accept 
defeat in a run-off vote.
Mrs Gbagbo, who had been held under house arrest for three years, has been 
charged with "attempting to undermine the security of the state".
Former prime minister Gilbert Ake N'Gbo and Ivorian Popular Front (FPI) party 
head Affi N'Guessan are also being tried along with the former first lady.
Her husband, ex-President Laurent Gbagbo, is facing four charges at the ICC in 
The Hague, including murder, rape and persecution. Mr Gbagbo, 69, who insists 
he is innocent, is the first former head of state to have appeared at the ICC.
Mrs Gbagbo has also been accused by the ICC but Ivory Coast has refused 
repeated requests to hand her over, saying that she should be tried in a 
domestic court.
She was arrested in 2011 after troops stormed a bunker in which she and her 
husband had taken refuge, following a military assault on their residence in the 
main city, Abidjan.
Violence broke out in Ivory Coast in 2010 when Laurent Gbagbo refused to cede 
power to his rival Alassane Ouattara, who was declared the winner of a 
presidential poll.
The West African leader was ousted in 2011 with the help of French and UN 
forces backing President Ouattara.
Proceedings at Mrs Gbagbo's trial on Friday were expected to be limited to jury 
selection, with hearings beginning properly next month.

Mauritania Journalist Sentenced to Death for Apostasy

A court in Mauritania has sentenced 28 year old 
journalist Mohamed Cheikh Ould Mkhaitir to death 
for apostasy for criticizing Prophet Muhammed. According to Reuters, the journalist was sentenced by a court in the northwestern city of Nouadhibou for an article he published almost a
year ago, questioning some of the decisions 
Prophet Mohammed took during holy wars.
Some folks saw the article which he posted online 
and appeared on a number of websites and called 
for his arrest. He was arrested on January 2nd 
2014 after the article sparked street protests 
and has been in custody ever since.
When he 
appeared in court, he pleaded not guilty, telling 
the court that it was 'not his intention to harm 
the prophet' but he was still found guilty and 
sentenced to death under Sharia law. 
The 
prosecutors recommended that he be shot to 
death.
AFP reported that the blogger fainted when the 
ruling was read out in court yesterday Dec. 25th. He was revived and taken to prison. His lawyers
say they will appeal the sentence.
According to AFP, Mauritania hasn't executed a 
prisoner since 1987, and has not given a death 
sentence for apostasy since it gained its 
independence from France in 1960.
